Submission Guidelines Updated 13th March, 2026 Thank you for your interest in Bitten Fruit Books. If and when working with authors, our goal is to give a voice to unusual, less mainstream work within genre fiction, especially for first-time UK authors . We want to help you get off the ground. We are a micro-publisher based in the United Kingdom – we are small, niche, and a family-run business and we don't pretend to be anything other than that. We only work with one author at a time to give you our best, which can mean only publishing, say, two new authors a year. What We're Looking For We are looking for genre fiction which is fast-paced, passionate, creative, intelligent, and somehow different to the norm. We publish new authors under Bitten Fruit Books (contemporary romance, women's fiction, contemporary thrillers) and our brand new about-to-launch imprint, Between Fire & Ice (dark fantasy, paranormal romance, gothic fiction, horror, supernatural thrillers). We get...

The Gift of a Good Love Story

Image
With Valentine's Day around the corner and the state of the world the way it is at the moment, we cannot emphasise the importance of taking time out to relax, unwind, and remind ourselves that love, care, humanity, and all those good things actually do exist. We've listed below some heart-warming, soul-inspiring reads for Valentine's Day to keep you going. The Spell of Summer and Summer's End These two gorgeous reads centre around family, friendships, and a second chance at love. Set along the windswept beaches of Cornwall, these novels are a cross between passionate romance and women's fiction. Remember the idealistic way you looked at the world when young(er) and about to set it ablaze? These stories take you right back to those times, and the characters being in their late twenties doesn't detract from that at all, but does the opposite – it reminds you love (new and lasting) is possible whatever age you are and just as strong as it ever was.
